Ann-Charlotte was the classic “theater kid” through school, performed in the Middleburg Players’ summer musicals, and, after college, went out to Hollywood to pursue her other interest in writing and directing for film. After a decade, she came back to Virginia and rekindled her passion for theater by working for many years with the Middleburg Players and on other regional projects, including a few with Tom Sweitzer. Thanks to local theater companies, Ann-Charlotte counts herself lucky for the many roles she has been able to play including Gladys Bumps in “Pal Joey,” Anna in “New Girl In Town,” Joanna in “Company,” Rose in “Gypsy,” and Miss Hanigan in “Annie.” When her boys Nick and Will enrolled in Wakefield School, she soon found herself cast in plays there including her favorite role of Nancy in “Oliver.” Although “A Will to Survive” was inspired by a truly heartbreaking event, she is deeply grateful to Tom, Kim, Cedric, Angelle and the whole team at A Place to Be for bringing this original and passionate show to the stage and finding a place for her to be within it.
