Expressive Arts Therapies encompass an inter-modal approach where client and therapist may move between dance, poetry, writing, drama, art and music for clients to express their emotions, communicate needs, and explore outside the box. A Place To Be implements a carefully crafted plan that is tailored to specific individual or group needs and goals. You do not need to have any artistic ability to benefit from the Expressive Arts Therapies; the focus is in the process of exploring your feelings, creating and using your imagination, and using the art as a tool to work on your therapeutic goal, not on the quality of artistic outcomes.

Our program is great for individuals looking to deepen their sensory experience, find new ways to express themselves and think creatively, and for people who might struggle with more traditional forms of expression and communication.
