APTB currently seeks a Program Coordinator to support the coordination and administration of all aspects of therapeutic programs including planning, organizing, staffing and maintenance. The Program Coordinator will also serve as a public face of APTB by promoting programs and managing partnerships; ensuring clear communication with clients, family and other staff; and contributing to strategic planning for the organization.
General work hours are Monday-Friday 10 am – 6 pm, with additional evening and weekend work, as required.
The Program Coordinator reports to the Sr. Director of Finance & Administration and supervises support staff.
Monitor and evaluate all aspects of program operations to ensure quality of service for all involved participants;
Monitor and maintain staff schedules; coordinate staff training events;
Ensure staff compliance with all acceptable program practices and procedures;
Troubleshoot and/or resolve any issues or areas of concern that arise when dealing with clients and their families;
Participate in the development of annual program goals and objectives;
Oversee program expenses, to include but not limited to vehicle maintenance, building maintenance and program supplies;
Serve as liaison with community providers, case managers, group homes, parents and governmental services to facilitate the coordination of services to the participants as requested, as well as increase and improve client involvement;
Attend and participate in all relevant events, workshops, training and meetings;
Provide support to the Senior Director of Finance & Administration in overseeing the day-to-day operations related to programming;
Provide coverage when there is a staffing need; and
Perform other job related duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to act as a representative of A Place To Be to the public;
Thorough knowledge of program practices and procedures;
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with associates, subordinates, representatives from other agencies, and the general public;
Ability to effectively communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds;
Ability to research, prepare, review and maintain reports and documents;
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision;
Ability to use sound judgment when making decisions;
Ability to pass a criminal background check; and
Skilled in the operation of relevant computer systems, including hardware and software, and office machines.
Education and Experience:
B.A./B.S. degree in psychology, social work, rehabilitation or related field required;
Two or more years experience working in a setting with persons with intellectual/developmental or functional disabilities preferred; and
Experience in the supervision of direct care staff preferred.
